Student Support & Guidance
Student Health
UNC Charlotte Student Health (SH) provides primary medical care, disease prevention, health education, wellness promotion, and various specialty services to all registered UNC Charlotte students, regardless of the type of health insurance they carry.
Student Health is a part of the campus team that coordinates responses to infectious disease outbreaks and is the university’s liaison to the Mecklenburg County Health Department. We provide the campus with important public health services.
Student Health and the Center for Wellness Promotion are located in the Waddell Center for Student Health and Wellbeing.
Office of Disability Services
The Office of Disability Services is responsible for ensuring access to academic programs and campus facilities for individuals with disabilities. You are encouraged to contact them should you, need assistance or if you have any questions about how to best help your students.
Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)
The Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at UNC Charlotte supports the holistic well-being and academic success of students and contributes to a healthy and welcoming campus climate. This is accomplished by providing short-term individual and group counseling, crisis management, consultation, referral services, and educational and preventive initiatives for the campus community. In addition, CAPS supports the academic mission of the University by serving as a training site for graduate students and supports scholarly activity and professional development of staff.
Writing Resources Center
The Writing Resource Center (WRC) includes computing facilities that integrate word processing, research, tutoring, and assistive technologies. In addition to its Web-based resources, the WRC houses a library of writing-related instructional materials. Consultation is available, on a limited basis, to support faculty in teaching writing across the curriculum. WRC staff also offer presentations and host workshops on such topics as avoiding plagiarism, documenting sources, peer response, and revision strategies.
WRC also offers services that are specific to student needs, so you are encouraged to send students their way!
