Student Resources

Sometimes it is necessary for a faculty member to not only provide support to their students in the classroom but outside of it as well. There are numerous resources on campus which exist to assist your students whether personally, medically, professionally, or academically. By being familiar with the below, you will be better able to help your students succeed.

Office of Disability Services

The Office of Disability Services is responsible for ensuring access to academic programs and campus facilities for individuals with disabilities. You are encouraged to contact them should you, personally, need assistance or if you have any questions about how to best help your disabled students.

Writing Resources Center

The Center includes computing facilities that integrate word processing, research, tutoring, and assistive technologies. In addition to its Web-based resources, the WRC houses a library of writing-related instructional materials. Consultation is available, on a limited basis, to support faculty in teaching writing across the curriculum. WRC staff also offer presentations and host workshops on such topics as avoiding plagiarism, documenting sources, peer response, and revision strategies.

WRC also offers services specific to student needs so you are encouraged to send students their way!

University Center for Academic Excellence

The University Center for Academic Excellence (UCAE) is a combination of five offices poised to help students enhance their learning skills and improve their academic performance: The Learning Lab, Tutorial Services, Supplemental Instruction, Building Educational Strengths and Talents, and Student Success.
